USA Gallery 01 November 2019

Photographs help us make sense of the world around us. Printed on Canson Infinity fine art media by Certified Print Lab, Digital Silver Imaging, Democracy in Focus is a curated selection of images that explores how we practice and negotiate democracy in daily life, grapple with complex power structures, document the past, and envision the future.

The 10-day online print sale will run November 1 - 10, 2019 and feature photographs by Wessam Al Badry, Andrea Bruce, Laura Morton, Tasneem Alsultan, Shahidul Alam, Carlos Javier Ortiz, Griselda San Martin, Ken Light, Alpana Aras-King, Tomas van Houtryve, Sarah Blesener, and others. This body of work reflects aspects of democracy including justice, freedom, legitimacy, and power. Prints will be on sale for $150 for 8.5 x 11 in and $250 for 13 x 19 in with options to purchase the whole set. Proceeds from the sale will be split evenly between contributing artists and CatchLight’s programs to support visual storytelling.
We will kick-off the print sale with a launch event at McEvoy Foundation for the Arts in San Francisco on Friday, November 1st, featuring remarks by artist Alexandra Bell, organizer Aimee Allison, and collector Wayee Chu.
