Known for her anthropomorphic work, Karen has taken inspiration from our heritage steam railway to produce ‘Aussie Wildlife Adventures’, which cleverly depicts a wombat, kangaroo, and echidna enjoying Puffing Billy in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges.

These creatures of the forest – cute as they may be – are also rescued wildlife that feature in the ‘Homeless Wildlife’ series at the Visitor Centre. Karen has worked with rescuers around Australia to create eye-opening artwork that brings to the forefront the challenges these native animals face every day.

And finally, with animal puns hidden deep inside her digital portraiture, Karen’s original work ‘Animal Puns’, which won her Animal Photography of the Year at the Australian Institute of Photography, will be on show and have viewers engaged for hours!
